Why should I study the IELTS English Language Programme for Nurses
If you want to be considered for nursing work or study in the UK you must
reach IELTS 6.5 to either apply for registration as a nurse or enter onto
a University course. In order to reach this level you need to follow an
intensive IELTS programme.

We book you into a host family for 4 weeks so that you have more chance
to speak English and learn about life in England. The family provide
breakfast and evening meal Monday to Friday and all meals at the weekend.

You can decide whether you would like to stay with your family or get
an apartment. Some students prefer to get an apartment together after 4
weeks when they are more used to life in England. This gives you the
choice to decide how and where you would like to live. Accommodation
after 4 weeks is not included in the programme price.

You should pay the course fee to the agent once you have enrolled. When

You can come onto the 50 week course where you can start from IELTS 4.

You must complete the IELTS General Module and gain a mark of 5.5 in each
category and an overall band score of 6.5.

What happens if I do not reach IELTS 6.5 at the end of my course 如果我

You can re-enroll to study for the IELTS examination for another 12
weeks (you can only take the IELTS examination once every 12 weeks). We
offer you a special rate of 30% reduced price on the normal IELTS
examination course for a further 12 weeks+.

Normally it would cost 155 per week but with the 30% reduction it will
only be 109 per week.

Can I work whilst studying 我能否打工
Whilst studying you will be able to work part time up to 20 hours on your
student visa. For those with suitable experience we work with one of the
main hospitals in the area who would like to consider our nurses for
part time work. This will be as care assistants as you can not work in
a full nursing role until you have IELTS 6.5 and UKCC registration. This
means however that you can see what the work in the hospital is like, get
good experience and an income and also then be considered on their
performance for employment when you are registered and have your IELTS
score.

There are also opportunities for many other care assistant posts on other
medical institutions This work will give you vital experience and income

What is the cost of living in the UK 英国的生活水平如何
You will need to pay for local travel to College which is about 2 a day,
although from most host families you can walk. Lunches are not provided
by host families Monday to Friday so allow 2 a day for lunch. After 4
weeks you can continue to stay with host family at a cost of 77 per week
for half board, breakfast and evening meal Monday to Friday and all meals
at the weekend.
If you want to move to an apartment you should allow 50- 70 a week for
rent and 20 a week for food.

You will register with the United Kingdom Central Council for Nursing,
Midwifery and Health Visiting. (UKCC)

The UKCC application registration fee is 117, when you are accepted as
registered you will then pay the registration fee of 36 for 3 years.

For the UKCC registration you will need to produce the following on
special UKCC forms that we apply for on their behalf：
Reference from Senior Nurse / Midwife with whom the nurse has worked for
at least 12 months.

recently employed him/her for at least 3 months.

You can apply to register to be a nurse in the UK if you have the
following minimum education and training requirements and post

Your education and training programme must have been not less than 3
years in length.

Your program must have had a balance of theoretical and practical
instruction of not less than one-third theoretical training and not less
than one-half clinical/practical training;

The nurses salary per year in the UK varies according to their
qualifications. The range is from a newly qualified nurse who will earn
at least 15,445 (more in London) and top nurses have the potential to
earn over 40,000 a year.

What are the normal working hours for a registered nurse 工作时间有多长
Full time work is 37.5 hours per week. Part time work and flexible
contracts are often available as some nurses prefer to work flexibly on

than the basic 37.5 hours a week through overtime or nurse bank schemes,
but this is always voluntary and done only when the ward or department
is very busy.

You can certainly go on to study after the course. The result of 6.5
IELTS is also the requirement for most postgraduate and undergraduate
courses. You could therefore apply for the excellent courses offered by
